'Breaking Dawn' rumors surface and get shot down

Chances are, if you're a Twilight series fan on Twitter, you've heard a thing or two about a supposed casting call for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Short answer to a question of legitimacy? False.
It all started this morning when a
blogger (who, by the way, was also incorrect about casting information on The Host) posted "information" about a casting call for the fourth (/fifth?) Twilight series film, Breaking Dawn.
According to his report, Summit Entertainment greenlit the project, was bringing on a second production company entitled Sunswept Entertainment, and was likely to be casting for parts like Renesmee and others.
Afterward, though, Lana Veenker (who served as casting director on Twilight) issued a
statement that "we have not yet been contacted by production about this possibility and have not been hired to provide casting services."
Also, the
Gossip Cop stated that "as of now, nothing is official." Continued Gossip Cop, "A rep for Summit tells Gossip Cop exclusively, 'The film has not been greenlit – and thus no decisions about the film’s shooting location, start date, the director, etc… have been made.'”
Over the past few months, it's been a great deal of fun to speculate about The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. From
visions of Renesmee and Bella's wedding dress to fan-made posters and hopes for the return of Chris Weitz, the project has certainly been on the radar. However, as the project is not yet greenlit and has not been formally and officially confirmed for production, it remains just that: speculation.
